I don't think frequency of updates matters as much once you have enough sets. Take Abbie, the SC Icon who is leaving later this month.

She has over 1400 sets not including the bonus ones. If she left it up and never updated again, I think new members would continue to join, the value is just too great compared to everyone else but Fantasia. I sure wouldn't think of ever pulling it down unless that is what she wanted.

I'm not sure on that but you may be right. Although as long as I am having fun I don't see why I shouldn't share it all

I not talking about those long time charms that have a great deal of content on there pages. I'm talking about the ones who have 6 or 8 updates then never post again.

I can see how this would be frustrating to new members wanting to support the Charms. Unfortunately even those 'girls' may have a lot of reasons for stopping updating. Finding out the money is not what they expected or that having the site actually requires work are in my opinion the 2 most likely causes someone would quit that quickly.

I agree totally. It take a lot of work to have a successful site and I think a lot of people over estimate the payoff and under estimate the work level.

I think alot of people get into it thinking if they post a few naked pictures that men will want to throw money at them. It's just not the case. While planning sets can be alot of fun, there is definately work to it. If you really enjoy it and are comfortable being spontaneous (like shooting just because instead of costuming and doing your hair and makeup) updating is really easy once you get used to the rythym and software. But having a site is just NOT a way to get rich quick. I give alot of credit to the Charms and Gents who take the time to do a bunch of wild backgrounds, photoshopping scenarios, wildly creative settings and costumes. I know I don't have the skills for a lot of it (I've had Photoshop for years and can barely open the stupid thing, though I'd love a few pro style sets like that).

If I can relate my own current experience to illustrate the point.
I saw that a former Charm I had followed had resigned with SC so I joined. At first all she was posting was the old sets from her previous stay on SC. After a while a few new sets were posted and the old sets were being shown as bonus sets. There have been no new updates in over a month, save for 2 bonus uploads. Would'nt it be easier for the Charms to post a notice in the members area that they may not be updating for xxx period for zzzz reason?

I agree that we should let the fans know if we aren't uploading. Sometimes you forget though.. But it also makes people not buy when you say you aren't uploading anymore, even if you already have a BUNCH of great sets, so a lot of people don't say anything.

I think that could be hard to do depending on the situation. No one plans ahead to go into the hospital or have a family emergency. You can always email the charm in question to see if you get a response and maybe let her know you miss her updates.
