Butt plugs are a great help when preparing for anal sex. After cleaning your anus you can start with a small one and every 5 or 10 minutes you can take a larger one.

I have metal ones and silicone ones and glass. my favorite one has to be the glass one you can warm it up or chill it depending on what mood you're in
