Bela Lugosi was fantastic. In a world of little to no special effects he made monsters come alive.

I watched The Disappearance of Alice Creed last night. Not a typical horror movie really, but kind of horrifying in the way it could actually happen. Although I do think the two scariest movies I have ever seen are 8-The Mormon Proposition and Jesus Camp. Both are documentaries.

The only thing I've ever watched that scared me to the core was "Protect and Survive", a series of information films made by the UK government telling what to do in the event of a nuclear attack. They were made in 1975, the year I was born. I think what scared me about them was the fact that this was a real possibility, and that I might never have had the chance to grow up.
Not that I've ever really grown up, anyway.

So true that the reality of things can be much scarier than fake blood and monster scenarios. I think the things that are happening in the world or could happen are terrifying. Especially what people will do to other living things.

I like the black and white horror movies.I use to watch Wolfman Chiller Drive in.It was out of Detroit.He played all the old horror movies.

He's still around on one of those .2 or .3 channels. I've caught the show a couple of times since digital.

No surprise there. Maybe it was old episodes I saw but one of them referenced glittery vampires so I thought they were newer

Gore isn't overly my thing. I pretty much watched Human Centipede to find out what the fuss was about. Then had to watch the second to see if they actually topped the shock value of the first (not even close in my opinion).

I preferred the Human Cent-iPad episode of South Park, it was a damn sight more plausible

In the South Park episode, Kyle accepted the T&Cs from iTunes without reading them. One of the T&Cs was that he consented to being part of the next generation of iPads, which was made out of 3 humans stitched ass to mouth. Bizarre, but more fun than the film.

Lol...Sounds humourous. I never overly got into South Park. Probably because it's not available without cable here and I just won't pay to watch crap on tv

It's not available without cable here, either, but I did pay for it last year, just so I could watch the football. But I don't any more, so I'll be streaming this season.
It did start out great, dwindled a bit, but is now the funniest thing on TV in my opinion.

I don't watch sports at all, I find the news depressing and reruns can be found anywhere. I get 16 channels now without paying so I save my money for buying books and movies.

I get the basic cable package, only because I can't get a signal through my antenna where I live. Yet all I seem to watch at the moment is The Big Bang Theory, as that's really the only decent show on at the moment.
