I tend to be sub most of the time. I think part of that is I tend to be incredibly polite, and deferential. I also honor people who live life serving (here I don't mean any BDSM stuff, but just the way they live their lives), and in doing so, try to do the same myself. It just fits really well with my sexual/fetish persona as well, I guess.
