I never bought an individual set but I would. Great way to see what the member site is like.

I would be interested to know more ... I’ve only been on charms for around 6 months so don’t know about this !

Several years ago, charms had the option of offering individual photo sets for sale for $1.99. Which allowed fans to purchase single sets to try out a charm's members side, or to try out several charms and purchase only the sets they were interested in.
However, that option was removed due to some technical issues I believe and there's been no mention of it returning.
