Today is my Mojo Nixon ~ Elvis is Everywhere day.

Mojo Nixon grew up an hour from where I am living now.
He died this past Wednesday doing his thing to the end.

Hanging out and watching Nena videos, and it made me laugh how she and her 2 backup singers handled the whole 'appearance' thing at the beginning of the 2018 live version of Willst du mit mir gehn. Where an American band would have have had a expensive lift to bring them up, she and her ladies just laid down, unseen, until it was time to rise up and sing!

And her drummer has got some arms on him!

I am "only" 50 years old, and I sometimes get into weird discussions with my two (older!) partners about music that happened before I was born. This time, they were talking about a singer named Melanie that had just died (76) and were laughing how one of her songs had been banned from radio. About the time I was born! And then they played Brand New Key for me, and I didn't get it. So they played it again, and this time I listened closer, and WOW I have never heard a sweeter dirty song!

Both of my partners are older than me, which makes for some interesting conversations about the past, AND some music that I have never heard of!

Like Monty Python. I have seen most of their movies, and everyone I guess has heard, Always Look On The Bright Side of Life! and The Lumberjack Song. But I understand that the look on my face when I heard Every Sperm Is Sacred recently was hilarious. They were laughing like it was! Then they put The Galaxy Song on, and I have never agreed with the closing line of a song more!
