I just taught a firecupping class last nite and in my class props and implements is a Coke bottle I still use!!!! printed on it is reurn foe deposit...think I can still get my nickle back?? Foxy

Here in Michigan we have deposits on soft drinks and beer still. Keeps the littering down. Even if people throw them on the side of the road someone else picks it up to get the deposit. Now if they would only put it on water bottles.

Whats a ripple effect of Florida's open container law is the soda cans and trash go on the floor of the truck but the beer cans and bottles go out the window to the side of the road since its illegal to have them in the truck!!

The only thing about getting up to turn the channel was everyone sat so close to the TV then that you just reached over to turn the dial! {:-D

As for bottle deposits, we have that here in NY and water bottles also get 5 cents.
You pay more when you buy it so your only getting your money back.

Those shows don't seem that old to me. Watched them often.
Saw Elvis and the Beatles on the first shows on Ed Sullivan. Only Black and white TV.
Saw Carol Burnett on Broadway in the show Fade In- Fade Out.

I do remember the transistor radios Alexus, very well in fact. Found an old one of those at my mom's as well. In fact, that comment got me to thinking about an AM radio station I used to listen to as a kid. I did a search on the call letters and low and behold, a group of guys got together and now it's streaming online. Feels like I found an old long lost friend. Thanks for posting that nugget!

Well I still have an 8 track that works, tapes are dirty and scratchy but that's how the were when new. Anyhow can't remember them if I didn't forget them!!!! How 'bout Captain Kangaroo and Mr. Green Jeans. or Sid Ceaser and Red Skelton
