Ha Ha...Condoms

So, I like to watch T.V. when I'm knitting or sorting patterns/etc. repetitively. Today I'm not only cleaning out my closet for a yard sale, but also my fabrics. And while I'm sorting and pricing, I'm watching "Black Sails". It takes place in the mid 1700's and is basically about pirates. (well the really dumbed down version of what it's about, drama's always slip a few other morsels in) I just started, so I'm only on the second episode. And one of the pirates says something I found out of place but like none the less. He makes a joke that " there's nothing there but opium addicts, lunatics, and men who call themselves too good to wear a condom." Which pairs men who don't wear a condom in the same company as lunatics. Wikipedia claims the condom has been around since the 1600's!!! News to me. What I'm wondering is who amongst you pride themselves on wrapping it up for their safety and the piece of mind of their 'formerly unknown' partner?
