If you could strum the guitar and sing like Richard Thompson I'd be there in a heartbeat!
I've bumped into a few fans. One that really surprised me was when I was with my Mom at a casino. We had lunch and he paid our bill. I had no clue who did it until I got home and read my email. I thought that was very sweet! Then there is a guy that I used to work with that just won't give me his name and it drives me a little nuts! I've also had a few email and let me know they saw me. Then on the extreme side, I had to get the law involved because he found where I live and was very creepy and it scared the piss out of me as I am home alone quite a bit. I've also met and had dinner/lunch with one in a public place and it worked out great. I would never meet for a shoot though.
I was lucky enough to be recognized after only two weeks on the site here in San Francisco. My daughter who is 18 has a pretty good idea about what i'm doing when she sees me taking pictures of me smoking or of my feet, so it wasn't to terribly uncomfortable when he called out my name. I think of it as a complete thrill that someone would take an interest and appreciate enough to be able to recognize me without all the spackle and paste. I mean without you all, there would be none of us! I signed an autograph, that made me blush because It was such a surreal experience , then took a picture with him. It really was a blast.
I keep seeing mention of "SC events" - how do I find out about these ahead of time? I'd love to attend one in the hopes that some of my favorite Charms are there.
If any one is in Central Florida in January,Let me know if you would like to come tyo my Small SC event that I am Hosting. PM Me Huggggggggggggggssssssssssssssss OMV
We have spoken before and if we lived closer to each other I would totally meet you for a drink If I ever make it up your way I will let you know I am excited because in this coming year I plan on attending my first bash and traveling to a few states to meet some of my favorite charms to do photo shoots with.
I had a member see me out and emailed me saying he saw me! I would not mind someone comming up to me talking. I would hope they would be discreet on my site. Its a secret no one other then a few friends and my husband knows about. Im shy but wouldnt ignore them! If you email me and want to meet I would try to arrange it but will bring hubby or friend with me!
You know its funny I got recognized at the airport last year and again when i was in my sweats and ponytail with no make up and all i remember thinking was really why is it when i look like crap i run into someone. lol I wouldn't be opposed to having dinner or drinks with a fan/member as long as my husband where there with me to give me that comfort level.
I totally enjoy meeting fans! If any of you are ever in my area, please let me know in advance. Some of my fans that I've met in the past are now my very good friends....so you never know!
I live in Concord, North Carolina...very close to Charlotte....so if you plan a trip down my way....look me up!
I have had the honor of meeting three of my fans. One has even become a very good friend and eventually become a photographer for me from time to time. Now that didn't happen right away, but we've been friends for seven years now. All three meetings were exciting and though they have moved on to other Charms we still are in contact from time to time.
I think I've met a couple of others though they never said they recognized me from Southern Charms, but have asked me if we'd met somewhere. I didn't recognize the gentleman, but I was polite and played along. I don't know if they recognized me from somewhere else of if they were just to shy to say so.
I met someone who had been a member for over 6 months, and he then became my photographer for almost 2 years. We were very good friends but the distance became too much. I would have no problem meeting a fan in public for lunch or dinner, I think it would be nice. I'm in Florida, so if you ever vacation this way, be sure to look me up.
